I have a very unforgettable moment. It was when I was 9th grade. I sign up for joining the World Scout Jamboree. It was the greatest moment in my life and I will never forget it.
World Scout Jamboree held in Japan on 28 July to 8 August. we start practicing in June. We practice our scouting skills, traditional dance for our performance, and our solidarity, and else. Before we went to Japan, we stay in Cibubur for 4 days. On that time, All Indonesian representation from all province already gathered in Cibubur. In Cibubur, we did the practice again but this time, its more about national practice. On the second day, we go to the presidential palace to do the ceremony. The president of Indonesia also came to the ceremony. I got the first row so I can meet the president face to face. On the 4th day, We went to Japan
First we went to Osaka. We stay in Osaka for 3 days. In Osaka We just walked around the town. On 28th July, we start our journey. We used the bus to go to Yamaguchi. It was a very long ride. When we Arrived at Yamaguchi, it was night. We are so tired. But we still need to walked to our camp area. Its about 3 km from the parking lot to the camp area. We have to walked 3 km carrying 20 kg bag.But, The worst thing is we need to build our tent in the middle of the night with only a flashlight for our light. In that time, I feel very tired. But now, it become a great memory.
We did a lot of activities in the WSJ. Such as water activities, culture activities, nature activities, and else. But there is one activities that I like. It was peace activities. Peace activities was when we go to Hiroshima. In the Hiroshima, we went to the nuclear bomb museum. One of the room was very scary. Because the room describe how's the situation when the bomb was droped. The sky is red, a lot of black smoke, and the people skin is melting. We also did the forum in the peace activity. After 10 days of the WSJ, its time to close the event. The closing was very spectacular.
After the event, we went to Tokyo. We went to Tokyo using the shinkansen. Shinkansen is japan fastest train. In Japan, we stay about 3 days. On the second day, we went to Tokyo Disneyland. we dont go to disneyland, but we go to disneysea. It was a very fun place. We also met some of our WSJ friends from other country.
It was a very good memory that I have. Sometimes I wish that I can repeat that experience again.
